PACKET PICK-UP & BIB NUMBERS
You must be present to pick up your bib, participant shirt and race packet at the Health & Fitness Expo or race morning at the start; you cannot delegate another person to pick-up in your place unless you have completed an official Packet Pick-Up Authorization Form. Please be sure to make your travel plans accordingly.
Bib numbers are assigned in early November. Each participant will be emailed their bib number and QR check-in code on the Monday and Thursday prior to race weekend. Bibs numbers will also be emailed by SVE Timing. You can also look up bibs on the mobile app (found for iOS and Android as “BSIM Events”) or at haku on your profile page(once assigned).
The 2020 5K starts on Del Monte Avenue in downtown Monterey. The start time is to be determined.
The 5K is a loop course in Monterey. The finish will be at the Custom House Plaza – Monterey Historic Park adjacent to Fisherman’s Wharf and the Portola Hotel & Spa.
Due to the nature of the course, no animals, pacers, skates, skateboards, bikes, wheelchairs, hand cranks, baby joggers or children/infants in backpacks are allowed on the course. No bandits. No exceptions. If you need special accommodations, call 831.625.6226.
The 5K course features one aid station at the turn-around with water and portable restrooms.
COURSE TIME LIMIT/WALKERS
5K participants have more than three hours available to finish and both walkers and runners are welcome.
The 5K ends at the the Custom House Plaza – Monterey Historic Park next to Fisherman’s Wharf and will feature light runner refreshments, a beer garden with craft beer, live entertainment, and race merchandise for sale.
TIMING AND AWARDS
The 5K is a timed fun run, with no overall or age group awards.
PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION
5K participants are responsible for their own transportation to the race.
IPODS AND AUDIO DEVICES
We strongly discourage the use of iPods, headphones, ear buds or other MP3 or headphone devices in any of our events for safety reasons. Due to the nature of this course, you need to be able to hear verbal instructions or commands from race officials including course marshals on bicycles and to hear other vehicles or emergency vehicles on the course alongside you. We ask that you leave your headsets/earbuds at home to best enjoy the incredible scenery, the course entertainment and the experience with your fellow runners.
