HOKA ONE ONE® Northern Arizona Elite to Host Training Plan for Premium Big Sur Marathon Groups

Big Sur VIP and Boston 2 Big Sur participants gain special access to curated 16-week plan

CARMEL, CA. – The Big Sur International Marathon announced that HOKA ONE ONE® Northern Arizona Elite (HOKA NAZ Elite) will provide a 16-week training plan for its two premium registration groups presented by HOKA ONE ONE®: Big Sur VIP and Boston 2 Big Sur. HOKA NAZ Elite Coach Ben Rosario will lead the training schedule along with guest contributions by HOKA NAZ Elite athletes. The training plans, which launch on December 29th for Boston 2 Big Sur participants and January 7th for Big Sur VIP participants, will be crafted specifically to prepare runners for the Big Sur Marathon course. Three program levels – beginner, intermediate, and advanced – will be offered and distributed on Final Surge, the training platform used by NAZ Elite athletes.

“Runners of all ages and abilities have so much in common, even the pros, and this program is going to give our team the opportunity to interact with the Big Sur VIP and Boston 2 Big Sur Challenge participants in a way that is really unprecedented,” said Coach Ben Rosario. “My aim as a coach is to have anyone that uses our plan feel as if they have the entire HOKA NAZ Elite behind them.”

Big Sur VIP is a premium registration category that provides participants with elevated start and finish line amenities, additional race weekend excursions, and concierge-like customer service. Boston 2 Big Sur is a premium category offering for those participants wishing to run the Boston Marathon followed by the Big Sur Marathon six days later. In addition to the specialized training plans, both groups receive additional high-end race swag provided by HOKA ONE ONE®.

“I have been a fan and follower of the HOKA NAZ Elite team for the longest time,” said Christy Slye, Partnerships Director for the Big Sur Marathon Foundation. “Bringing Coach Rosario’s caliber of training plan along with tips from his pro marathoners to our HOKA premium groups, the Big Sur VIP, and Boston 2 Big Sur Challenge will be a cornerstone of our partnership with HOKA. I am telling all of my friends to add this bucket-list experience to their marathoning ambitions.”

The Big Sur Marathon Foundation prides itself on partnering with respected brands and organizations like HOKA and NAZ Elite to produce exceptional race experiences for all participants – from first-time marathoners to competitive elites. Ben Rosario and the HOKA NAZ Elite team bring years of high-level coaching experience and proven success to the Big Sur Marathon’s training offering. In addition to the 16-week program, Coach Ben will be active in providing tips and guidance on the Big Sur VIP and Boston 2 Big Sur online communities.

Registration for Big Sur VIP opened on July 8th and sold out all 325 slots in a record 12 hours. Registration for Boston 2 Big Sur opens on October 1st on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited to 400 participants. For more information, visit bigsurmarathon.org.
